Adoptions Now Open for The Salvation Army of North Texas’ Angel Tree Program

Nov 3, 2025 | by The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program is officially underway and this year, the organization is encouraging individuals, families, and friends to give with joy this holiday season and help fulfill the wish lists of more than 35,000 Angels.

This annual holiday tradition ensures children, seniors, and adults with special needs in North Texas wake up to gifts under the tree on Christmas morning, who otherwise may go without. It is thanks to the generosity of the public that The Salvation Army is able to spread hope and happiness to our most vulnerable neighbors across the region.

Home to one of the largest Angel Tree programs in the world, The Salvation Army of North Texas has helped make Christmas memorable for nearly 50 years. Adopting an Angel delivers gifts that spark happiness and create lasting hope for families not only during the holiday, but throughout the year.

“Angel Tree is such a special program because for many families, it ensures parents no longer have to choose between necessities like their electric bill or their children’s Christmas gifts,” said Major Carolynn Webb, area commander of The Salvation Army of North Texas. “Now is the perfect time for our community to come together in the spirit of giving. Every gift, whether through Angel Tree adoptions, monetary donations, or volunteering helps The Salvation Army of North Texas meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our neighbors all year long. We are deeply thankful to our supporters who make this program possible each year.”

How to Adopt

Once an Angel has been registered, their Christmas wish list is catalogued by The Salvation Army and available for the public to adopt. Items suggested for purchase can include essentials like new clothing, pajamas, hygiene and care products, and shoes, or could be lighthearted gifts such as toys, games, or sports equipment.

Adoptions open online on November 3 and will close on December 6. Angel Tree adoptions are open to the public and can be completed online at SalvationArmyNTX.org/north-texas/angel-tree. Supporters can adopt an Angel in the county that they live in across North Texas.

Participating retail locations will also have Angel Tree tags on Christmas trees to adopt an Angel in-person starting November 7. That includes:

  • NorthPark Center

  • Galleria Dallas

  • North East Mall

  • The Shops at Willow Bend

  • Golden Triangle Mall

  • Hulen Mall

  • The Parks at Arlington

Forgotten Angel tags will also be available for selection at select retailers, which helps The Salvation Army make Christmas happen for those who were adopted but their wishes weren’t completely fulfilled and they are still in need of gifts.

How to Return your Gifts

Once the new, unwrapped items have been purchased, North Texans can bag their gifts per Angel, with the corresponding Angel Tree tag, and drop them off.

Drop-offs will be available on December 5-6 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at participating retail locations. Drop-offs are also accepted at The Salvation Army’s Corps Community Centers across North Texas weekdays from November 3 – December 6. The last day to return your gifts is December 6.

How to Volunteer or Donate

Those who are unable to adopt an Angel can volunteer to sort Christmas gifts for distribution or make a financial donation to ensure all Angels receive items on their wish lists. From December 12 – 18, The Salvation Army will distribute gifts to families across North Texas.
