Join The Salvation Army to Raise Vital Funds for North Texans in Red Kettle Campaign
It wouldn’t be Christmas time in North Texas without The Salvation Army’s iconic Red Kettles and bell ringers. As the holiday quickly approaches, the region’s largest social services provider is calling on the community to get involved in this year’s season of giving — especially at a time when the public’s support is needed now more than ever.
Kicked off with a showstopping performance by Dolly Parton at the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day game, The Salvation Army’s 133nd annual Red Kettle Campaign, sponsored by Energy Transfer, is now in full swing at select partner locations across North Texas.
The largest and longest-running fundraiser of its kind, The Red Kettle Campaign is vital to ensuring The Salvation Army can effectively meet the physical, social, and spiritual needs of North Texans year-round. While best known as a renowned symbol of The Salvation Army during Christmas, Red Kettles raise essential donations that go directly toward supporting our neighbors who are combatting poverty, addiction, and homelessness well beyond the holiday season. Nearly half of The Salvation Army’s annual raised revenue comes between October and December.
As thousands of North Texans face increased hardship with the economic impacts of inflation and rising costs, there are numerous ways to get involved with The Salvation Army to show that love exists beyond the most difficult situations.
Make a Donation
To support the Red Kettle Campaign, North Texans can donate cash, coins, and checks at Red Kettles stationed outside storefronts across Dallas, Rockwall, Tarrant, Ellis, Denton, and Collin counties. Donations can additionally be made online to a Virtual Red Kettle in your neighborhood.
Every dollar donated stays in local communities, supporting our most vulnerable or struggling neighbors. These funds help The Salvation Army provide a range of social services including shelter, feeding, after-school programs, addiction-recovery programs, summer camps, disaster assistance, and more.
Register to Ring
North Texans can volunteer to bell ring at a Red Kettle location by visiting registertoring.com. Individuals or groups can also encourage their friends and families to get involved by hosting their own Virtual Red Kettle.
“We have been a longtime supporter of the incredible work of The Salvation Army," said Chris Curia, Executive Vice president and Chief Human Resources Office for Energy Transfer. “Our employees are committed to supporting The Salvation Army through a variety of their programs, including The Red Kettle and Angel Tree campaigns along with its lifesaving disaster relief efforts. We continue to be inspired by the difference they make in the lives of families around the world.”
The Salvation Army is uniquely positioned to respond to increasing requests for assistance in every pocket of North Texas. Each week, The Salvation Army of North Texas feeds 10,000 people through its 12 food pantries, treats 800 people through its three recovery programs, and houses 1,300 people through its six shelters and senior living centers.
With the help of generous contributions during the holiday season, The Salvation Army can continue providing transformational services that meet immediate and long-term needs for North Texans combatting poverty, addiction, and homelessness.
“Without the generous donations made at Red Kettles and during the holiday season, it would be difficult to provide the transformational services at the breadth and scale that we do,” said Major Paul McFarland, area commander of The Salvation Army of North Texas. “We are grateful for the support of Energy Transfer, our donors, and our partners whose support enables us to address the startling realities of poverty, addiction, and homelessness 365 days a year.”
