THE SALVATION ARMY OF NORTH TEXAS
HOME SWEET HOME PROGRAM

The Salvation Army of North Texas Home Sweet Home Program helps support residential stability by providing homeless and at-risk households the tools to effectively budget and manage income and expenses.

Through The Salvation Army's Home Sweet Home Program in Dallas-Fort Worth, professional case workers, along with friends or partners in the community, can prevent homelessness not only at the point of family eviction, but beyond.

To put a family back together after it is broken requires more time, skills and financial resources than many families have available. Through financial education, case management, financial assistance (1-6 months) and monthly budgeting, families may be spared months of misery, saving the community thousands of dollars in sheltering and rehabilitation.

To be selected as a participant in the Home Sweet Home Program, a family must show a strong desire to change, improve their family's situation and work within the program's guidelines. Our Home Sweet Home program is offered at both the Carr P. Collins and Mabee Social Services Centers.

Our Services:

Homeless Shelters

For those looking to escape the streets, we offer a safe, quite place to spend the night. The Salvation Army provides a nutritious meal, a warm bed and a clean shower.

Food Pantries

Our food pantries and drive-through services in DFW offer good meals to people in need. 

 Social Services 

Our footprint across entire North Texas region allows us to reach our most vulnerable neighbors with essential services like alcoholism and drug rehabs, help with utilities, and other family needs.

Emergency Assistance Programs

We provide emergency assistance to help with mortgage/rent, utility bills, clothing, medication bills, and other needs in order to keep families in their homes. 

Home Sweet Home

Our Home Sweet Home Program helps stop the cycle of poverty by providing homeless and at-risk households the tools to effectively budget and manage income and expenses.

 Job Training 

Our job skills training and employment referral services help adults get back on their feet, and stay there.

Children and Youth Programs

We offer safe, affordable place for young people during non-school hours and during the summer, led by paid, trained youth development professionals.

Ongoing relationships with caring adults and connections to new friends in a positive environment, reinforcing a sense of belonging, personal accountability, civility and civic responsibility.. 

 Senior Housing 

The Catherine and Evangeline Booth Friendship Houses in Fort Worth are residential facilities that provide a warm, friendly and safe environment for low-income individuals ages 62 or older to call home.

 

 Mobile Feeding & Homeless Outreach

Every day The Salvation Army provides hot meals, case management, and mental health and substance abuse services to the homeless with our Mobile Outreach program.
